| The gifted program at McHarg consists
primarily of differentiation within the regular classroom. The
classroom teacher works with the gifted coordinator to develop a
Differentiated Educational Plan for each of her identified students.
This plan highlights the ways in which the teacher will meet the needs
and challenge the gifted students to reach their potential.
The gifted students also meet with the elementary gifted coordinator once weekly for enrichment activities in each area of identification. The time during these weekly sessions is focused primarily on developing higher level thinking and skills beyond the regular grade level classroom. |
