I would like to take the opportunity to welcome you back
to school this year! I am excited to be your new principal. We have an
amazing new school facility and I know that this will be an incredible
year for all of us at Belle Heth Elementary School. I am proud to be a
part of such an impressive school and community.
I am originally from San Diego, California but moved to
Radford in 1999. My wife and I have three boys. We love living in
Radford and I am very excited to now be working within the same
community where we have lived for the past 10 years. I received my B.A.
in Spanish from Brigham Young University, my teaching licensure from Cal
State San Marcos, and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Radford
University. I have taught English as a Second Language and Spanish at
the elementary, middle, and high school levels. My administrative
experiences include working as the Assistant Principal/Director of
Career and Technical Education at Floyd County High School. Most
recently, I have worked the last four years as the Principal at Floyd
Elementary School.
I am happy to have the opportunity to work with your
children. We have a strong community with exceptional children. As I
work with your children, I will strive for following:
- Equity
- High Standards and Expectations
- Raising Individual Capability
- Parental and Community Involvement
- Keeping Students Central in all that We Do
- Continuous School Improvement
Please come by and take a look at our new facility,
volunteer to help in the classroom, or contribute in any way possible.
We need your help and your input to make our school even greater than it
already is. May this year be the best year ever.
Sincerely,
Jack McKinley
Principal
