“Tea Time”
A collaborative work of art by Belle Heth students, 4th-6th
grade, is among the works featured.
Teacher: Michelle Saunders
The assignment was to create an image that fit with the
Fine Arts Center’s YAM theme “Artist Banquet” and embark on a creative
journey. After viewing a side presentation of food images from various
artists, students were asked to create their own idea of an image related to
food in any medium. Our (the teacher’s) original idea was to create a large
box of chocolates with each chocolate referring to a different artist.
However, the students seemed to have other ideas. A tea party theme kept
repeating in their first brainstorm images. A tea party reminded us of the
story, Alice in Wonderland. “Alice” reminded us of the rabbit who
was late. The rabbit with his watch, reminded us of Dali and his melting
watch image, Persistence of Memory. And so the madness began….. |
