Homework is important because it allows children to practice skills learned at school.

For homework to be productive children should:
1. Find a quiet place to work (away from television, radio, stereo, siblings).
2. Have school supplies (paper, pencil, crayons, scissors, index cards and stapler) in a central location near the work station.
3. Look on www.schoolnotes.com or assignment sheet for homework assignments and due dates.
4. After completing the work ask an adult to check over it and make any necessary corrections.
5. Put completed work back in the binder under the correct subject so it will be easily located when returning to school.
6. To study for tests: Read through study guides, make flashcards for vocabulary, people or events, have an adult quiz you on the material, practice several problems and have them checked by an adult, create a practice test to take and then have it checked by an adult. Make a game out of studying.

Our class has homework each evening. For a posting of daily homework go to www.schoolnotes.com.
