       2011 National Geographic Bee Classroom Champions

2011-12 American Mathematics Competition Top Scorers

Including eighth grader Luke, whose score earned his inclusion on the AMC 8 Honor Roll (top 5% nationally)

 

Gifted learners in seventh and eighth grades receive yearly progress reports, which document services provided by their classroom teachers.  Seventh graders may enroll in an exploratory Critical Thinking course, and eighth graders can take Independent Study.  The following activities also are available to these students:
  • College Board ReadiStep Testing (for gifted eighth graders)
  • National Geographic Bee
  • Enrichment Trips or In-School Presentations (recent examples include an in-museum lab at the Science Museum and a Barter Theatre production at our school)
  • American Mathematics Competition--all seventh and eighth graders identified in math
  • Math Counts (coached by Mrs. Weimer)
  • Brown Bag Book Club (we read and discuss a novel or a collection of short stories or poetry)
