The re-enactors from the 24th Virginia and the 83rd Pennsylvania will be holding an encampment at Glencoe Museum this weekend, February 3 through 5. The best day to come by will be Saturday, February 4, between 10 am and 4 pm. This would be a great opportunity for kids to see this living history of the Civil War!
Ferrum college will be here on Monday, February 6th to speak with interested seniors. Please sign-up outside of Mrs. Webster's door if you would like to attend the presentation.
If you are planning to go to NRCC next year, you MUST sign up for a placement test. Study materials are here, so please get one from Mrs. Webster as soon as possible.

The Pratt Institute is offering a pre-college program this summer for students interested in a variety of art and architecture skills. Please see Mrs. Webster if you are interested.
Mrs. Webster and Mrs. Schumann will host a presentation for JUNIOR parents titled "Life After High School: Preparing for Higher Education" Monday, February 13th at 6:30 in the RHS Library. Please R.S.V.P. to the guidance office at 267-3255.
The Kavli Science Video Contest promotes S.T.E.M subject learning by challenging students to research, brainstorm, and communicate creatively through video . This year the contest theme is "Save the World Through Science and Engineering". We are asking students to make a short video( :30-:90) that shows how scientific discoveries and inventions can improve our lives and change our world, either right now or in the future. The winners receive cash prizes. The first place winner will also receive a travel stipend to attend the Expo in DC . Entry deadline is Mar. 21 2012.
