New Guide for Common Aquatic Invertebrates

A new field guide to common aquatic invertebrates, created by students at Radford High School in Radford, VA, will be released across Virginia. This guide is designed to aid in the identification of common stream macroinvertebrates, and will help answer that perpetual question “What does the adult stage of this species look like?” The book includes high quality black-line illustrations of both the larva and adult stages of each insect. The book also includes descriptions of characteristics, habitat, and food, which facilitate the locating and identifying of insects. The book has a unique format, placing the larva and adult stages of each species of insects conveniently next to each other. For more information about the book, please contact Frank Taylor at ftaylor@rcps.org. To obtain a copy, please fill out the order form and send it to the address provided.
