Virginia Board of Education Seeks Public Comment on the DRAFT Educational Technology Plan for Virginia 2017-2022

The Educational Technology Plan for Virginia 2017-2022 has been developed over the past six months with input from stakeholders, from school divisions, and the general public. The DRAFT of this plan is available online for public comment.

The plan is a living Web document and is a series of interconnected webpages with links to Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) resources and other useful resources, which can be used by school divisions when developing their own technology plans. This is a new format for the plan and has been recommended by those involved in the plan’s development.

The Educational Technology Plan for Virginia supports the Board of Education’s Comprehensive Plan and provides goals and objectives for the VDOE’s work. Concurrently, school divisions must develop their own technology plans to align with the State Technology Plan for 2017-2022.  Both functions of the plan are addressed in the webpages.

If you have questions, please contact Jean Weller, Educational Technology Specialist, jean.weller@doe.virginia.gov or 804-225-2825.
