I have worked as a school psychologist for 18 years in the Radford City School system.
I committed to graduate from Marion Senior High School in 1978, Appalachian State University in 1982 (BS), Radford University in 1985 (MS) and Radford University in 1987 (Ed.S). I was inspired to become a special education teacher after a summer of working at Mount Rogers Mental Health Services in a special needs program with children of varying disabilities. After working as a special education teacher for two years, I decided to return to school to pursue a graduate degree in school psychology. I was inspired by a close family friend, who had a special needs daughter, and a first grade teacher, Peggy Cregger, who had special needs children in her classroom and a visual impairment which was a special need of her own. These experiences led to a desire to become a special education teacher/school psychologist. I am eager to create positive experiences and make a difference in the lives of others.
