Homework

THIS  PAGE INCLUDES ALL THE MAJOR ITEMS WE ARE WORKING ON.

STUDENTS MAY HAVE ADDITIONAL WORK

Day to day homework is displayed on our whiteboard at school.

Students are responsible for copying all assigned work onto their assignment page.

Week of August 20-24

We are collecting can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House and Box Tops for Education.

Please send in any that you have. :)

Reading/Language Arts:

Students need to read 100 minutes outside of class each week (20 minutes EVERY DAY) and turn in a Reading Log every Monday.  They must write a short summary (at least 2 sentences) of what they read and note the time spent each day.  Parents need to sign the Reading Log. The best way to become fluent in Reading is to READ.

There will be a Spelling and Reading quiz each Friday.  Students will also have weekly IXL assignments.

Language Arts IXL assignments: A1, A4, A5, A6 and A11 are due on Monday 8/27

Math:

EVERY night students will have a "Homework/Review and Remember" workbook page.  We will also have weekly IXL assignments.

Math IXLs: A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A7, C1 and C2 are due on Monday 8/27

Your child also has a login/password for Reflex Math, Prodigy Math, and IXL. These are websites accessible from home. The best way to become fluent in math is practice, practice, practice.

Social Studies:

We will have daily notes for students to review in their SOL handbooks.  Quizzes and tests will be written on the Homework board in class.

We will begin the year with a quick review of continents and oceans. We will then learn about the 50 states. This will be broken up into chunks with quizzes each week. The final test on all 50 states will be on September 26th.

Science:

We will have daily notes for students to review in their SOL handbooks.  Quizzes and tests will be written on the Homework board in class.

Our first unit is the Scientific Method.  The test will be on Tuesday, August 28th.

 IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE…..

Every Monday: Monday Folder home. Parents, please sign the Progress Report and return both folder and report on Tuesday.

If you plan to travel home or to the Rec. Center in a different manner than usual, you MUST have a note. This is for the safety of all Belle Heth students.
