5th grade
3 years strong at Belle Heth Elementary School

I committed to graduate from Hidden Valley High School in 2011. I also committed to graduate from Radford University in 2015. I grew up in Roanoke County and many of those teachers inspired me to love learning. My first grade teacher made the biggest difference in my life. I was a struggling reader and she made sure that I was surrounded by a support team including my parents, reading specialists, and herself. I would not have come as far as I have without her help. Fortunately, she was not the only teacher that impacted my life greatly. My high school chemistry teacher pushed me to do better and work harder than I ever had before. He was one of the main reasons that I decided to become the teacher that I am. I won't forget the teachers who showed that they cared. I hope to be that teacher whose compassion can reach through to the students.

This year I am looking forward to learning from a wonderful group of students. They have so much that they can teach me and I hope they learn just as much ( if not more!) from me. This year we have the Chromebooks to use ALL year and I am very excited to open the door to a technology friendly classroom! I hope that they have just as much fun as I do rapping about cell parts, learning about our country and the events that formed it into greatness, reading novels that intrigue even the most hesitant readers, and learning math skills that they will use in their lives. The 2017-2018 year will be the greatest yet! :o)
