Special Education Teacher
2nd year at Belle Heth Elementary
I committed to graduate from Narrows High School in 2010. I also committed to graduate from Radford University in 2015, where I earned my Master of Science Degree in Special Education.
This will be my fourth year teaching special education, and my second year at Belle Heth Elementary. I look forward to working with new families, students, and colleagues and becoming a part of the Belle Heth community. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. As a child, my lifelong dream was to one day become an educator and impact the lives of others like many of my teachers did for me.
As an educator, my goal is to foster a classroom environment where students love to learn, take a risk in their own learning, and feel a part of a classroom community where their unique qualities are embraced and celebrated. I believe in building a strong relationship with all students to establish a positive, caring and safe learning environment where students feel a sense of belonging and are comfortable sharing their thoughts and ideas with others. I encourage my students to celebrate their strengths, advocate for their areas of challenge, and learn from their mistakes.
I am eager to make a difference in the lives of others and will strive for excellence in education, in every student, every day.
