Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!

My name is Sarah Contreras and I currently teach 7th/8th Special education at John Dalton Intermediate school. This will be my ninth year teaching Special education. I taught my first year for Giles County Public schools and have taught seven years for Radford City public schools. I committed to graduate from Pulaski County schools in 2005. I then committed to graduate with my bachelor's from Radford University in 2011. After that I committed to graduate with my masters in 2013 again from Radford University.

I have always loved working with students at the middle school level. I enjoy that at this level we are able to teach multiple students and multiple content areas. The students are allowed more freedom and are able to find out who they truly are. Dalton Intermediate is a small school that works as a family. My favorite part of Dalton Intermediate school's community is how much we care for one another and love our students.

I was and continue to be inspired daily by my mother. She has always worked hard for what she has and will do anything for the people in her life. My mother is so caring and I aspire to be more like her.
