Sarah Contreras
Special Education Teacher
I teach as a Special Educator in 6th grade at Belle Heth Elementary.  This will be my fourth year teaching at Belle Heth Elementary School. Before Belle Heth Elementary I taught as a Special Educator at Narrows High School for one year. This will be my fifth year as a Special Education Teacher.
I committed to graduate from Pulaski County High School in 2005. I also committed to graduate from Radford University with my Bachelors in 2011. I then committed to graduate again from Radford University with my Master's in 2013. I have been inspired by many people in my life, but one teacher in particular made me want to pursue teaching. This teacher was my 1st grade teacher and she taught me so much. At that age we were learning to read and it was very challenging for many. I remember that she never gave up on anyone and pushed us all to do our best. She had set her room up to provide "cozy corners" for reading. This memory has continued to stick with me and has followed me into my own classroom. I too have "cozy" places for students to complete work and read. I hope to also have a positive impact on students as she positively impacted my life.
I look forward this year to building positive relationships with students and then in turn helping them be successful in all of their classes. I look forward to a fun and productive 2018 - 2019 school year. I am proud to be a part of the Belle Heth family and Radford City Schools!
