I was born and raised in Chesapeake, VA (about 5 LONG hours from Radford). I graduated from Old Dominion University in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) degree. Currently, I am enrolled at Virginia Polytechnic Institute to earn my Master of Education degree in Integrated STEM Education.
Growing up, I have always wanted to be a teacher. I can't explain why, but I have always felt that it is my true calling. While in high school I took advanced placement chemistry, and, let me tell you, it was a struggle. Chemistry and I have always had a love/hate relationship. It is one of the only subjects that has truly challenged me on an intellectual level. But, while attending Old Dominion University I finally realized that it was my true passion; after a failed attempt to major in history...I can't remember dates for the life of me!
I am extremely excited for the start of the school year. It is my hope that I will be able to show students why chemistry is such a beautiful and amazing science discipline. I also hope that I can help inspire my students to follow their dreams.
I am looking forward to a great year!
