STEM Saturdays at Wonder Universe
Elevate learning and excitement with our STEM Saturdays at Wonder Universe—a captivating space where students can dive into the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through interactive exhibits, engaging activities, and hands-on experiments. Maker Mondays is a series of weekly online sessions with related speakers and time to plan and create your own wind energy device with the support of Virginia Tech undergraduate students culminating in a regional Kid Wind Competition at Virginia Tech on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. All required materials are free and will be mailed to you. It is not required that you participate in the regional competition to be part of the Maker Monday sessions. We will hold an interest meeting on Monday, December 4th at 7PM via Zoom. If you are interested, please complete this form.

Recruiting Initiative for Student Engineers (RISE) is a series of events, one per semester, starting with the spring of a student’s sophomore year. Students may apply to the program as sophomores or juniors. It is designed to attract underrepresented high school students and/or first-generation college students interested in engineering. Application deadline March 17th. Spring events:

Engineering Open House April 15 – 16 (juniors only) Spring football game & tailgate: April 13 (sophomores only)

Finally, it’s not too early to start making summer camp plans! This spreadsheet contains all of the STEM and diversity summer programs I am aware of at Virginia Tech. I will update it as I gain information. I have also created a flier for CEED’s summer programs that you are welcome to download and share.
